Paid a quick visit to the boys at BL!SSS a bit back and as you walk in you get the whole operation figured out in the glance of 1 room. Based in the hub of Surf and Skate 3 guys Nick Kalionzes (Editor in Chief), Joey Marshall (Editor) and Mark “madsteez” Paul Deren (Creative Director) run the show with a little help from a couple others.

While other publications seem to have batten the hatches to adjust to our economic funk they seem to be firing though it without worry. Marshall mentioned they decided in the beginning to run a tight ship and now half way through their third year on the map that decision seems to be genius. When I stopped by Nick was doing some business on his SUP while Joey was staring their latest “SUPER TASTE” shot which is always on point, and mark was doing what he does best, making stuff look neat.
